It's game over for suspected crime boss Daniel Kinahan, bruv. The Dublin boxing promoter, who's allegedly the big cheese of the Kinahan organised crime group, is on his way back to Ireland to face some serious charges. After gettin' nicked in April in the UAE, the 40-something is now bein' extradited under a formal request from Irish authorities.
A government jet took off from Dublin's Casement aerodrome on Saturday mornin', touched down in Dubai that night, and left the UAE just after 10am Sunday. Kinahan's expected to appear before the Special Criminal Court in Dublin this evenin' on a charge of directin' an organised crime group.
Justice ministers from Ireland and the UAE issued a joint statement celebratin' the extradition. Jim O'Callaghan and Abdullah bin Sultan bin Awad Al Nuaimi hailed it as 'a clear message that suspected perpetrators of serious and organised crime will find no safe haven from justice'. They also praised the professionalism and efficiency of the UAE judicial authorities throughout the proceedings.
