Brace yourselves, fam. Alexander Pearce, 30, and Lauren Feeney, 28, from Sarah’s Croft in Netherton, got rumbled by the North West Regional Organised Crime Unit (NWROCU) this year. The couple's international drug scheme came crashing down when Border Force intercepted some suspicious parcels headed to the US.
The first parcel, declared as ‘Organic Multi Vits’, was kicked down on March 28 and turned out to be laced with Class A drugs like metonitazene. Another two parcels, packed full of Bromazolam and more metonitazene, were seized in April. Pearce was caught on CCTV posting these dodgy packages from post offices around Merseyside.
When the feds swooped on their pad on May 2, they found a full-blown drug factory: computers, tablets, packaging materials, and those Bestlyfe labels used to disguise their illegal shipments. Feeney's phone showed she was deep in the game too, arranging international shipments and prepping parcels.
In total, the old bill seized over 146,000 tablets with a street value of up to £300k. Pearce copped to all charges and got six years inside. Feeney, on the other hand, got a community order, electronic curfew, and some rehab time.
Detective Inspector Danny Murphy from NWROCU summed it up: 'These drugs are deadly, and Pearce and Feeney were sending them out like they were candy. Thanks to our efforts, a lot of harm has been prevented.'
