‍ TAKING DOWN THE KINGPIN: High-Level Clan del Golfo Member Sentenced for Drug Trafficking

· 🇺🇸 USA · 2026-08-09 · 1 min read

Aimer Alberto Alvaran Posada, 52, from Colombia, just got handed 150 months in the clink for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking operation. This ain't your average drug deal, fam — we're talkin' about Clan del Golfo (CDG), a paramilitary outfit so dangerous it's been tagged by the U.S. as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Alvaran Posada wasn’t just any low-level grunt. He was a high-ranking member of CDG’s Western Bloc, and in 2018, he conspired with other top dogs to produce half a ton of coke for Mexican buyers — all destined for the U.S. market. The feds caught wind, busted him, and seized over 363 kilos of cocaine. He was even in line for a promotion, but instead of rising through the ranks, he got popped by the boys in blue in 2021. Extradited to the U.S., Alvaran Posada copped a plea on Aug. 27, 2025, and now he’s lookin' at over a decade behind bars.
