TAKING DOWN THE KINGPIN: High-Level Clan del Golfo Member Sentenced to 12+ Years for Drug Trafficking

· ๐Ÿ‡บ๐Ÿ‡ธ USA · 2026-07-29 · 1 min read

Aimer Alberto Alvaran Posada, 52, from Colombia, just copped a hard 150-month sentence for his role in a massive cocaine trafficking conspiracy. The feds weren't playin' around this time ๐Ÿ‘ฎ.

Alvaran Posada was no small fry โ€” he was a high-level player in the Western Bloc of Clan del Golfo (CDG), a multibillion-dollar criminal empire so dangerous, it got slapped with a Foreign Terrorist Organization label by the State Department. CDG's whole game? Flooding the streets with cocaine to fund their paramilitary shenanigans. In 2018, Alvaran Posada orchestrated a 500-kilo cocaine deal destined for Mexico and eventually the U.S. The plan was foiled when 363 kilos were seized during the operation that led to his arrest. He was in line for a promotion to command CDGโ€™s Western Bloc but got popped instead. The FBI, Colombian National Police, and DOJ's Office of International Affairs all teamed up to bring this one home. Alvaran Posada pleaded guilty on Aug. 27, 2025. The Justice Department made the official announcement today.
