Lee Scarfe, 38, had a tidy sum stashed away when the feds pulled him over in Barry. Found with a cool £4,000 in cash and a phone full of coke-dealing messages, Scarfe was nicked on the spot. He copped to being part of a drugs line in Rhondda Cynon Taf and got four years and three months for his troubles.
But here’s the kicker: despite raking in £545,935.89 from his dodgy dealings, Scarfe's only on the hook for £4,860. Judge Christopher Felstead at Cardiff Crown Court slapped him with a confiscation order under the Proceeds of Crime Act (POCA). If he doesn’t pay up within three months of getting out, it’s an extra month in the clink.
