A cannabis gardener got a rude awakening when the feds kicked down his door in Lanarkshire. Besnik Perleka, 35, was fast asleep when officers swooped on his Caledonian Road pad and stumbled upon 130 well-maintained plants worth up to Β£78,000. π
Perleka copped to cultivating the stash at Hamilton Sheriff Court. Prosecuting barrister Connor McIntyre laid it out: 'The police arrived with a drugs warrant at 9.15am and found Perleka snorin' away in bed. The grow op was in another room, complete with top-notch gear.'
Defence lawyer Margaret Chalmers revealed Perleka is an Albanian national who's been banged up since his arrest. A Home Office probe ruled out human trafficking claims. Sheriff Liam Murphy deferred sentence for a background report and kept Perleka behind bars, innit.
