Essex Live Original source ↗
It's not every day a UPS worker gets crowned 'King' of the underworld, bruv. Zak Archbold, 30, a supervisor at the Stanford-le-Hope depot in Essex, just got served 12 years for his part in a Β£10 million cocaine smuggling op. The feds swooped on him after he used his insider access to sneak drugs through undetected. Southwark Crown Court heard Archbold was raking in Β£750 per kilo of coke, with 290 kilos moving through the depot in just five weeks πŸ’°. His co-conspirator, Steven Bullen, 51, got 16 years and four months for his leading role from a sunny villa in Spain. Judge Nathaniel Rudolf KC laid it down: "You chose to walk the pathway of risk and reward, and now you face the consequences." The gang used aliases like 'Veggie Kray' and 'Ghost', thinking their EncroChat messages were secret. Turns out, law enforcement had them on lock 🚑. Gemma Vincent from the CPS said Bullen was behind a 'staggering volume of drugs'. Archbold denied being 'King' at trial but was caught out by his own messages. Both are now locked up, and their ill-gotten gains will be confiscated.
