‍ SCOTTISH MOBSTER GONE TO GROUND: Paisley Gangster Jailed for £15m Drug Empire

· 🇬🇧 UK · 2026-08-01 · 1 min read

John Gray, 53, from Paisley, was part of the top table in a Scottish supergang that ran a £15 million drugs and cash-laundering racket. The mobster, who fled to the UAE, got caught trying to sneak back into Scotland at Glasgow Airport this March. Today, he copped five years and ten months for his role in the operation.

Lord Cubie laid it out straight: "You had a significant, sustained, and persistent involvement in the supply, storage, and adulteration of drugs over a significant period. Your actions helped fund serious organised crime and caused misery, poverty, theft, and death." Gray was also slapped with a three-year serious crime prevention order. He was nabbed during Operation Escalade, described as the most sophisticated crime network Scottish police had ever faced. Gray's undoing? An encrypted EncroChat device that the feds busted in 2020.
