Operation Alpha saw Gwent Police’s serious and organised crime unit swoop on homes across Newport and Cwmbran, armed with dogs, drones, and a mission to shut down a coke-trafficking syndicate 🌐. Jerome Winter, 25, Sharif Rahman, 29, Armani Brown, 27, and Saif Ali, 29, are now cooling their heels in HM Prisons after pleading guilty to supply charges. The early-morning raids netted £17,460 worth of cocaine, crack, and cannabis, along with nearly £9k in cash, phones, gadgets, and designer threads. Merthyr Crown Court handed out a total of 28-and-a-half years: Winter got eight, Rahman took another eight, Brown copped seven and two months, and Ali faced five and four months. Detective Chief Inspector Matthew Edwards summed it up: "This was a lengthy and thorough investigation that brought these criminals to justice. We’re committed to keeping our communities safe from the misery and fear caused by serious and organised crime."
