POLICE ROLL UP BIRMINGHAM CREW BEHIND WESTON-SUPER-MARE 'CHASE' DRUG LINE
West Midlands Police have rolled up a Birmingham trio behind the notorious 'Chase line', a drug operation that wreaked havoc in Weston-Super-Mare. The gang, led by Zaheer Hussain, 27, Safraz Ali, 27, and Bashir Hassan, 20, were all slammed with hefty sentences at Birmingham Crown Court last week.
The 'Chase line' was a hot ticket for crack cocaine and heroin, codenamed 'coffee and milk'. Over 2,700 customers hit up the line last summer. Judge Walkling KC laid it down: βClass A drugs do terrible damage to communities. Those who sell addictive class A drugs for their own profit are rightly punished with sentences of immediate custody.β
Hassan copped a six-year stretch, while Hussain and Ali both bagged five years and seven months each. All three pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs. Hassan also took the fall for robbery and aggravated vehicle taking.
Mitigating factors were laid out: Ali was forced into the gig by debt threats, Hassan was just the go-between, and Hussain was collecting cash to pay off a Β£600 debt. But it didnβt fly with the judge. The feds are sending a message: the drug game is done for these bruvvas.
