The boys at the Combined Forces Special Enforcement Unit of British Columbia (CFSEU-BC) pulled off a major takedown in Coquitlam, eh. Saadiq Azimali Daya, 35, is now facing a laundry list of firearm charges after a multi-agency sting.
On July 16, CFSEU-BCβs Illegal Firearm Enforcement Team (IFET) kicked down two doors β one in Surrey and another on Quarry Road in Coquitlam. They cornered Daya at the Coquitlam spot without any fuss. But things got interesting when they started digging through his stash.
They seized a couple of Berettas: a 92FS .22 and an M9A3 9 mm. Dayaβs now looking at six charges, including possession of loaded prohibited firearms and careless storage. He's in custody and set to appear in court on August 10.
"This investigation shows the power of teamwork," said Sgt. Sarbjit K. Sangha, CFSEU-BCβs Media Relations Officer. "By combining our resources with the Surrey RCMP, weβve taken a big step towards safer communities."
